Founded by Bassem Abadir, Egypt Eats began with a simple dream — to bring the taste of Egypt into the homes of people across Pretoria and beyond. In September 2025, that dream took shape right from the heart of the kitchen itself. Bassem imagined a world where the flavours of Egypt weren’t only found in restaurants or on special occasions, but could live in everyday homes — shared around family tables, enjoyed with friends, and felt as comfort food that connects people.
What started as a vision in a home kitchen became a mission: to make Egyptian food feel familiar, welcoming, and part of everyday life.
Egypt Eats is inspired by the rich, comforting flavours of Egypt and the vibrant food culture of Cairo’s streets and family kitchens. For Bassem, food has always been more than just a meal — it’s a way of sharing culture, memories, and connection.
Growing up surrounded by the aromas of slow-cooked spices, freshly baked bread, and home-style cooking, Bassem learned early on that the best food is made with heart. That same passion now lives in every order crafted by Egypt Eats.
